Several
symptons of Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder-ADHD
have been described as inattention, difficulty in performing
activities, hyperactivity and impulsivity. As per the DSM IV
criteria for ADHD almost six of the flowing symptoms of
inattention have continued for over six months to the extent
that is maladaptive and inconsistent with development
levels:
Inattention:
• Repeatedly failing to offer close concentration to facts
or making slapdash errors at school, work or other
activities
• Experiencing trouble maintaining concentration in all the
activities
• Frequently not appear to hear when told directly
• Frequently not adhering to given instructions and failing
to complete entitled jobs at school, chores or duties at the
working place not just because of opposite attitudes or
failing to realize given instructions
• Facing repeated trouble in managing jobs and activities
• Mostly averts or dislikes or is unwilling to undergo jobs
that need consistent mental efforts like school work or home
work
• Mostly losing out essential elements for jobs or
activities such as school assignments or toys or pencils or
books or even related tools
• Frequently getting unfocused by irrelevant stimulus
• Often missing out or lapsing the routine activities
Some more symptons of hyperactivity or impulsivity have
continued for nearly six months to an extent that is
maladaptive and conflicting with development stages:
Hyperactivity symptoms:
• Frequently turns restless with hands or feet or twists in
the seat
• Sometimes gives up class-room seat or when remain seated
is required
• Mostly sprints about or mounts exceptionally in conditions
wherein it is improper like in youngsters or adults, may be
restricted to individual feelings of impatience
• Mostly having trouble playing or indulging in any
relaxation activities
• Often noticed talking extremely |
